Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 September 2026
This policy explains what information My Instructional Materials collects when a teacher, school, or student uses this site, and how it's used. If anything here is unclear, contact us at hello@myinstructionalmaterials.com.
1. Who this covers
My Instructional Materials is used by three kinds of accounts: teachers, school administrators, and students. A student account is created either by signing up directly or by a teacher inviting them into a class — it is not something a child sets up on their own to browse the internet with. Schools and teachers are responsible for getting any consent required by their own policies before adding a student.
2. What we collect
- Account details: name, email address, and role (teacher, student, or school admin).
- School information: for school accounts, the school's name and its list of invited teachers.
- Content you create: the topics, custom instructions, and teaching resources you generate or upload.
- Usage activity: logins, resource generations, and downloads, used for account limits, fraud prevention, and improving the product.
- Website analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are located, what device and browser they use, and which features (like signing up or downloading a resource) are used. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to do this, and only runs if you click Accept on our cookie banner. See section 7 to change your choice.
- Payment information: subscription payments are handled by Paystack or Flutterwave. We do not see or store your card details — we receive only confirmation that a payment succeeded, your plan, and your renewal date.
3. Student data
Where a student is added to a class by a teacher, we collect only what's needed to give them access to that class's exercises: a name (or the identifier the teacher assigns), and their exercise results. We do not use student accounts to serve advertising, and we do not sell student data to anyone, for any purpose.
4. How we use what we collect
To provide the service (generating and storing your teaching resources), to communicate with you (account notices, and occasional announcements — see below), to enforce usage limits tied to your plan, and to fix problems and improve the product. Generated content is processed by third-party AI providers (currently Google Gemini, Groq, and Anthropic) solely to produce the resource you asked for — it is not used by us to train any model.
5. Emails
We send account-related emails (welcome messages, confirmations) and may occasionally send announcements about the service to registered users. These come from us directly, not from an advertiser. You can contact us at any time to ask what emails you're on the list for.
6. Advertising
This site does not currently run third-party advertising. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated first, and — because student accounts use this platform — any change would be reviewed specifically for its effect on users under 18 before being enabled.
7. Data sharing and analytics
We share data only with the service providers needed to run the platform: our hosting and database provider, the AI providers used to generate content, our payment processors, our email delivery provider, and Google (for website analytics). We do not sell personal data.
Google Analytics collects usage information about visitors, including your IP address and cookie identifiers, and processes it on our behalf to produce reports about how the site is used. We do not send names or email addresses to Google Analytics. It only runs if you accept analytics cookies, and you can change that choice at any time below. You can also opt out everywhere by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.
You haven't made a choice yet.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to see, correct, or delete your personal data at any time by contacting hello@myinstructionalmaterials.com. A school administrator or teacher can request the same on behalf of a student account they manage.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, notify registered users by email.
